Hi, I'm Adnan Mohammed
Full-Stack Engineer
Computer Science graduate from the University of Wisconsin–Madison with full-stack development experience. Worked at multiple startups delivering production features, and partnered with GE Healthcare for a capstone project.
About Me
I'm a recent Computer Science Graduate from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and I'm passionate about building efficient, user-friendly applications that solve real-world problems.
My experience spans both frontend and backend development, with a focus on React, JavaScript, and Python. I've worked on projects ranging from HIPAA-compliant healthcare applications at startups to network infrastructure assessment tools for my capstone project at GE-Healthcare.
When I'm not coding, I enjoy mentoring fellow students and exploring new technologies to expand my skill set, or playing Ultimate Frisbee.
Work Experience
Software Engineer
- Architected 8+ healthcare modules for scheduling and insurance billing using React and C#/.NET, implementing field-level encryption, role-based access controls, and audit logging to meet HIPAA PHI handling requirements
- Reduced production-critical bugs by 35% across all frontend deployments by spearheading a new architectural audit process and enforcing HIPAA data-handling standards as the only UI code reviewer in the company
- Reduced feature delivery cycle time by ~25% by authoring technical requirement documents that translated clinical SME input into actionable engineering specs, eliminating back-and-forth between UX, Product, and engineering teams
Software Engineering Intern
- Built 3+ clinical dashboards in React and Microsoft Fluent UI for therapist schedules and overviews; used in alpha testing by multiple domain experts across 2 organizations
- Reduced redundant API calls by ~40% via write-through caching with TanStack Query, cutting dashboard load times and server load during peak usage
- Engineered a HIPAA-compliant real-time messaging feature using Azure Communication Services, SignalR, and role-based authentication, enabling secure provider-to-patient communication across 3 clinical modules
Peer Mentor
- Mentored 70+ students in systems programming and full-stack development through weekly office hours and BYOL sessions, providing technical guidance on low-level memory management, x86 assembly, and GNU/Linux systems debugging
- Directed the development of end-to-end software solutions, guiding the implementation of scalable full-stack applications using React, Express.js, and Docker, while overseeing the integration of OpenAI APIs for enhanced functionality
Frontend Developer
- Streamlined frontend-backend integration by implementing AWS Amplify services, reducing API latency and improving data synchronization
- Built responsive React interfaces with SCSS and consistently applied OWASP Top 10 secure coding principles to reduce vulnerabilities
- Unblocked on-time feature releases by resolving 20+ UI requirement discrepancies in 4 sprints via SCSS and HTML refactoring
Projects
Flowbit
- Orchestrated an E2E pipeline transforming natural language into structured variables via Gemini, leveraging containerization and Go/Kafka (mTLS) to achieve scale-to-zero efficiency
- Automated CI/CD via GitHub Actions to Cloud Run/Firebase; engineered a Postgres JSONB DLQ and recovery path validated by a Testcontainers suite and build-tagged fault injection
- Streamed live job state via Postgres LISTEN/NOTIFY and goroutine-safe WebSockets; implemented a 6-model AI fallback chain and utilized Cubic.dev for automated PR reviews and SAST audits
Silvervisit
- Built a vision-grounded LLM agent on Gemini 2.5 Flash (Vertex AI) that fuses user goals, DOM context, and screenshots to emit one validated action per turn, with target-state checks to suppress hallucinated clicks
- Integrated the Gemini Live API over WebSockets for streaming voice and vision interaction, and enforced domain-allowlisted execution to block prompt-injected or off-domain actions at the dispatcher boundary
- Shipped inference backend to Cloud Run via Cloud Build with a post-deploy verifier for Vertex, Live, and Firestore readiness; persisted per-turn traces to Firestore for replay-based evals and prompt iteration
Co-laborate
- Developed real-time collaborative whiteboard app using Next.js 14+, Node.js, and WebSockets for low-latency multi-user drawing via shared URLs
- Improved real-time stroke rendering latency by 50% by optimizing WebSocket update intervals and batching canvas draw calls, enabling smooth multi-user collaboration at scale
- Optimized UI responsiveness by migrating state persistence to IndexedDB, eliminating main-thread blocking
